Not quite sure what the PTA is or does? You’re not alone, a lot of us felt that way before we got involved ourselves!

Here’s a little about what we do:

Student Enrichment:

  • We organize and fund educational and wellness programs (aka: assemblies!) for all staff and students to enjoy.

  • Coordinate and hold fun events like Fall Fest & Jaguar Games

  • Create a yearbook to preserve memories (so our kids can track down their friend’s name in 20 years).

  • Fund activities for field day

  • Volunteer in various forms to facilitate student learning (book fairs, in classrooms, etc).

Staff Appreciation:

  • Providing monthly appreciation events to show our gratitude for helping raise our children

  • Organizing welcome back events and fun treats throughout the year

  • Facilitate and promote Teacher Appreciation Week celebrations amongst our students and families

  • Coordinate and organize volunteers as needed for our teachers and staff

Community Building
& Fundraising:

  • Creating a space to bring parents, teachers, staff, and administrators together

  • Assisting with school and community involvement projects

  • From a holiday shopping experience for our students to a full blown community fall festival, we work together to create family-friendly events that are genuinely fun while furthering our mission.

Executive Board

    • Leads all PTA meetings and provides overall organization leadership

    • Sets annual agenda and represents PTA at school district meetings

    • Coordinates with principal on school initiatives and strategic planning

    • Oversees all committees and serves as primary PTA spokesperson

    • Assists President and serves as primary backup leader

    • Works with committee chairs to ensure smooth event execution

    • Provides additional leadership support in specialized areas

    • Helps distribute leadership responsibilities across the organization

    • Manages all PTA finances and maintains accurate financial records

    • Prepares monthly financial reports and oversees annual budget

    • Processes deposits, payments, and reconciles bank statements

    • Ensures compliance with PTA financial guidelines and tax requirements

    • Takes detailed minutes at all meetings and manages official records

    • Maintains membership records and handles correspondence

    • Prepares meeting agendas and distributes materials

    • Ensures PTA meets all reporting requirements

    • Ensures meetings follow Rules of Order and PTA bylaws

    • Advises President on proper meeting procedures

    • Helps resolve procedural questions and oversees voting processes

    • Coordinates staff appreciation activities and recognition programs

    • Works with P.E. Coaches to organize for the event as needed

    • Encourages active participation and healthy habits among students and families

    • Organizes fundraising events at local restaurants and businesses

    • Establishes relationships with participating establishments

    • Promotes events to families and coordinates logistics

    • Combines fundraising with community building activities

    • Recruits and retains PTA members throughout the school year

    • Organizes membership drives and maintains membership database

    • Creates welcome materials for new families

    • Develops strategies to engage families in PTA activities

    • Represents PTA at district or regional council meetings

    • Reports back on district-wide initiatives and opportunities

    • Maintains connection to broader PTA community and resources

    • Ensures every homeroom teacher has a classroom coordinator

    • Manages volunteer recruitment and scheduling for all PTA events

    • Maintains volunteer databases and coordinates background checks

    • Matches volunteers with appropriate opportunities

    • Recognizes volunteer contributions and maximizes community involvement

    • Plans and executes the school's annual fall celebration

    • Coordinates games, activities, and vendor relationships

    • Oversees volunteer recruitment and event logistics

    • Manages permits, supplies, and ensures event safety

    • Oversees creation and production of the school yearbook

    • Works with yearbook company and manages design processes

    • Encourages submissions and organizes photo collection from school events throughout the year

    • Coordinates yearbook sales and distribution to families

    • Update and maintain the JES PTA website

    • Send out monthly newsletters to keep families informed of PTA events

    • Goal is to help keep members and parents informed about events and various PTA information

    • Serves as communication bridge between PTA and school staff

    • Helps resolve concerns between PTA and school personnel

    • Serves as ex-officio member providing administrative perspective

    • Ensures PTA activities align with school policies and educational goals

    • Provides updates on school programs and district initiatives

    • Serves as key link between PTA and district administration
